We were at NFT.NYC!

First of all, what is NFT.NYC? Well, some people are calling it the SuperBowl of NFTs. It's actually the biggest NFT conference/event of the year, and 22' was no different. Hosted around Times Square, with tons of speakers, panels and celebrities to go around, NFT.NYC was the place to be in this bear? market, with more than 15000 attendees, the city was taken by the nft mania for a whole week.One cool thing about this event was that there were different 'tracks' (Art, Music, FInance, Gaming, etc). Specially designed to focus on their particular interests. Given the broad application range of the tech, this was a smart move. Blast was obviously in the gaming track. We attended the gaming panels and events mostly held at The Palladium Hotel.The color coded concept was also really helpful to quickly find the content and people of your track.NFT.NYC gaming panels highlightsIn the gaming panels, we found one concept kept coming up over and over again: "games should be fun first, earning should be a plus".We found that tagline in all the talks around web3 games. That the experience and gameplay should be the priority if this industry is going to fulfill its full potential.Another interesting idea was "let's build games that can also be played without having no clue of what is an NFT". To enable a "web2" track on web3 games for people who are not familiar, don't care, or just want to try the game out without any investment.Our friends from Polygon Studios hosted a great panel explaining their roadmap and plans for the future of web3 gaming. It was great hearing from industry experts and gaining insight of what's to come. We found so interesting the thoughts and design process shared by Web3 gaming studios and key players in the industry. Promising titles like Metalcore shared their roadmaps on stage.Aside from the NFT.NYC main conference, the team was invited to many side events.We got to meet with amazing people IRL, builders, promoters, investors and marketers shaping the future of the space.Truly a great experience in one of the most exciting cities in the world!

How to compete in PUBG tournaments

In this guide we’ll go over the step by step process to be able to compete in Player Unknown - Battlegrounds (PUBG) tournaments in Blast!For Blast to be able to track your game data, you will need go over the profile section. Clicking on profile under your username will take you there.Roll down to the Integrations section, where you’ll need to provide your gaming account, depending on which platform you use to play the game.For example, if you play PUBG on Playstation you'll need to chose that option on the Platform field, and provide your in-game username in the 'PUBG ID' field, and click connect. Remember that you can always find your PUBG ID inside the game itself.Also, it can vary depending on the platform,. For instance while playing PUBG on Playstation it could be the same as your PSN username, but on PC it can be different from your Steam ID. The easiest way to find the game ID is to just to open the game however you play it and see it there!Next step is to click 'Connect', we'll verify that we are tracking your matches correctly. How to compete in COD tournaments

In this guide we'll go over the step by step process to be able to compete in Call of Duty (COD) tournaments in Blast!For Blast to be able to track your game data, you will need go over the profile section. Clicking on profile under your username will take you there.Scroll down to the Integrations section, where you'll need to provide your Activision ID.We'll check if your ID is correct when you click Connect. If it fails, please refer to your Activision profile and check if the ID is correct.Also check your account visibility settings in the Privacy & Security section. The 'Game Play Data' setting should be set to "FRIENDS + ACTIVISION PROPERTIES AND THIRD-PARTY PARTNERS'Once this is set up correctly, head back to Blast profile section and try again, it should work now! If you find any issues, please contact the team in Discord help channels.Once you have your Activision account ready, just chose a COD tournament and start playing! The wait is over, Blast is launching a public beta on April 29th!

Since our last post, the Blast team has been working heads down to release its first public beta. It’s a big milestone in our journey to fulfil our vision of becoming a play & earn platform for any game.Starting this April 29th, Call of Duty players will be able to set up a Blast account, join a Tournament Pool to showcase their skills, and become part of a growing community of gamers that want to play, connect, and earn some income while having fun.Here is a quick how-to guide of all you need to join our beta:All you need is a wallet and COD Warzone, we’ll take care of the rest. The Campus Party Experience!

The Blast experience at Campus Party UY was a hit! Thousands of gamers visited our booth at the tech event, played, competed and won incredible prizes!Just a few weeks before our official launch, we decided to have a in-site tournament during the Campus Party weekend in Punta del Este, Uruguay.Here you can learn a little bit more about our journey and goals creating Blast platform.The games chosen were Mario Kart 8 and Smash Brothers Bros Ultimate, two of the greatest titles of the Nintendo Switch, and gamers of all ages joined to tournament and learned about the upcoming launch.We also went on stage to share our experience and vision building Blast, what we aim to achieve and how. An intro to web3 gaming

Web3 gaming refers to games that leverage blockchain technology to create new enriched experiences. Also known as Play & Earn, Blockchain games, or NFT games. These new generation of games provide gamers the ability to truly own in-game assets, trade fungible (currencies) or non-fungible (digital content) in open markets, and sometimes earn economic rewards for playing.The fact that players in play-to-earn web3 gaming economies own in-game assets draws a stark contrast to traditional Free-To-Play (Freemium) game economies. These have largely exist within a closed ecosystem preventing players from trading in-game items for real world value.Web3 gaming beginningsIn a Play & Earn game such as Tethan Arena, we as players can choose to invest in a premium Hero (an NFT). And start collecting rewards right away as we improve our skills and rank in the game.Alternatively we can play as a free-to-play game with a basic Hero. With enough progress we can access a premium one, and again, collect real-world value tokens as rewards. If we get bored, or simply don't want to play anymore we can choose to sell our assets on the open market.On 2017 a few examples of this new model of web3 gaming appeared. Titles such as CryptoKitties and Axie Infinity really had an impact on us. But it was in early 2021 when this new trend really started to make headlines. Currently we see the coming of incredible titles and a fast growing audience for this new kind of gaming experience.Titles like Metalcore, Tethan Arena, The Harvest and many others, are about to be released with much anticipation and excitement from their respective communities. The new generation is promising to enable a AAA gameplay experience, with all the benefits of web3.
